Salary: $74,526.40 - $96,387.20 Annually

The Public Works Maintenance Division is looking to hire a dynamic, vision-focused individual to manage the Public Works Roosevelt Blvd campus, which houses the Maintenance Division and Parks and Open Space Division and a staff of over 250 team members in regular, limited duration and seasonal positions. The primary campus currently consists of 22 buildings with almost 117,000 gross square feet of space. It is an aging campus with ever-expanding service deliver needs, that must evolve in a strategic, balanced and fiscally responsible way. It is a hub for emergency response operations such as snow and ice, tree damage, and flooding.

In addition, the Public Works campus houses Fleet and Radio Communications Services, which supports all city vehicles, equipment and fueling including Police and Fire apparatus, and the county-wide radio communications system. Ensuring these facilities are well-maintained and function with maximum efficiency, conducive to 24/7 operations, is a critical component of community resiliency and support for first responders.

The Public Works Facilities Project Manager performs a variety of administrative, managerial, and fiscal duties in support of the planning, design, construction, repair, and maintenance of the Roosevelt Yard campus. This newly created position is intended to develop short and long-term work plans and associated budgets and update the campus facility master plan. This position coordinates with the facilities Division for repairs and Capital projects as well as ongoing maintenance and custodial services.

A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience and Training Guidelines  
Experience:
Five years of progressively responsible experience in commercial facilities management, operations and maintenance, general contracting, architecture, engineering, commercial construction general contractor or related field with at least one year of program management, preferably in the public sector. A minimum of one year of supervisory experience is preferred.

Training:
Equivalent to an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course in public administration, architecture, engineering or related field.  Degree in engineering preferred.
