The City of Aberdeen is committed to a significant and long-term capital improvement plan, including a decade of capital projects covering its wastewater treatment plant, wastewater collection system, water treatment plant, water reservoirs, water distribution system, two dams, 2.85-mile water diversion tunnel, industrial water system, stormwater pump stations, flood protection levees, local streets, state highways, and city facilities such as its fire station and police station.Aberdeen is a small city of 16,462 people located on the shore of the Grays Harbor tidal estuary on the coast of Washington. Once a major center for forestry- and fishery-related industries, it is rich in history and offers low cost of living, plus easy access to forests, rivers, and beaches.
The City's Engineering Division within the Public Works Department oversees this work and more. Currently the Engineering Division is comprised of a City Engineer, two staff members in the Engineer I position, and two staff members in the Engineer Tech IV position. The City is seeking an Engineer III to assist the City Engineer in delivering projects, from initial planning through construction.
