Salary: $69,557.88 - $93,214.20 Annually

The City of Monrovia is seeking an experienced, hardworking, and driven individual to be our next Utility System Maintenance Supervisor. This role will play a lead role in monitoring and supervising the City’s potable water distribution system operations and sewer collection system. The incumbent will work on a variety to assignments to ensure that the City’s infrastructure remains in pristine condition. This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing operational responsibilities including, but not limited to:
• Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review, and participate in the work of staff responsible for sewer maintenance, and water distribution systems to meet operational needs;.
• Monitor and control supplies and equipment, and prepare documents for equipment procurement;
• Coordinate with contractors providing contract services;
• Solicit and collect bids for goods and services;
• Interact with residents, customers, and the Monrovia community; and
• Train, supervise, motivate, evaluate, and train personnel.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, abilities and skills is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the qualifications would be:
AA/AS in water technology, construction or related field and four (4) years of increasingly responsible water and sewer system experience including some lead worker or supervisory experience. Experience working with diverse groups and ability to exercise cultural sensitivity and awareness is highly desirable.


LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE
Possession of a valid Class B California Driver’s License with air brakes endorsement and a good driving record; American Red Cross certifications in C.P.R. / First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Essentials. Grade III Water Distribution Operator certificate issued by the State of California Department of Health Services and Grade II Water Treatment Operator certificate issued by the State of California Department of Health Services.
