The City of Milton operates under a Council Manager form of government whereby the City Manager is appointed by the Mayor and Council. Milton's Public Works Department is responsible for streets, building and grounds maintenance, storm water management, and engineering. The Department employs 8 full-time, highly motivated staff members and operates maintenance activities through multiple public private partnerships. The Director will work in the area of design, long range transportation planning and transportation projects, oversees construction projects, and manages public works plan review,storm water management issues and facility maintenance. Additionally, the director will ensure compliance with the City's NPDES permit, oversee contracts and manage the work of outside contractors, and serves as lead in working with citizens to resolve concerns.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; PE certification required; Seven years of related management experience, preferably in a government setting. Excellent communication and customer service skills are required.
Compensation for the Director of Public Works will be highly competitive and will include an excellent benefit package. The City will pay reasonable and customary moving expenses.
