The Project Manager performs overall project management for the delivery of various transportation capital and major projects; planning, design, construction, environmental clearance, right-of-way & easement acquisition, contract management, public information & outreach, inspection and surveying.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 Successfully manage multiple civil engineering capital projects from inception to completion; oversee the preparation of engineering drawings, construction plans, specifications and contract documents for completeness, accuracy and compliance with City and CDOT standards; suggest and implement modifications as appropriate
 Review and approve technical reports such as traffic studies, drainage reports, and utility studies in conformance with city and/or state/federal standards; perform calculations
 Prepare cost estimates and calculate approximate quantities for contract bid documents, administer contracts through analysis and interpretation of contract documents including standard specifications, special provisions and technical data; review and recommend approval of payments, and change orders, coordinate project bid invitations, bid openings and contract awards
 Coordinate project improvements with other entities such as private utility companies, Urban Drainage, and Adams County
 Schedule, conduct and coordinate design and construction meetings with appropriate personnel and stakeholders, and conduct project walk-throughs and verify project completion.

 Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited institution and at least three years' experience in capital project management, construction management, municipal engineering or a closely related field is required.  Prefer current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Colorado. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered, such as Construction Management Certification, etc. Must possess a valid driver's license.
