SALARY: $6,369 - $7,742 Monthly $36.74 – $44.66 Hourly

The Construction Inspector II position is allocated in the City of Tracy’s Development Services Department. This unique employment opportunity includes inspection services for construction functions. Under the general supervision, the Construction Inspector is responsible for inspecting the workmanship and monitoring a variety of public works projects, subdivision improvements, and encroachment permits including parks and parkway landscaping, to ensure conformance with plans, specifications, and Departmental regulations. This position is responsible for the inspection of Public Works infrastructure (off-site improvements) which includes, but not limited to, water line, sewer line, and storm drain installation as well as roadway construction, including landscape and irrigation systems.

This position is the full journey level performing the full range of advanced and/or complex construction inspection duties including but not limited to public works projects, including parks and landscape projects. This position receives general direction from the Senior Civil Engineer. This position may exercise technical or functional supervision over Construction Inspector I or other subordinate positions. This position must be able to provide excellent customer service and work collaboratively with the public and internal City of Tracy departments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience ? Equivalent to an Associate in Arts degree with major course in civil engineering, construction technology, Public Works Inspection or related field. ? Two years of experience in construction, inspection, public works maintenance or the performance of related work. In addition to the above, two years’, experience equivalent to a Construction Inspector I in the City of Tracy. Licenses & Certificates ? Possession of, or ability to obtain by date of hire, and subsequently maintain, an appropriate, valid California driver’s license.
