The City of South Daytona is seeking a disciplined, results-oriented, professional, energetic candidate. Under the administrative direction of the City Manager, the applicant is responsible for all employees and activities of the Public Works/Utilities Department. The employee organizes and directs street maintenance, grounds maintenance, water and sewer utilities, building maintenance, and maintenance and repair of City equipment and vehicles. Considerable independent judgment and discretion is required in directing the daily operation of the department.
Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, civil engineering or related field; supplemented by ten (10) years of increasingly responsible work experience in public works or a closely related field, inclusive of five (5) years of responsible supervisory or managerial work experience in a division of public works or closely related field. Must possess a valid Florida driver's license. A Florida Board Certified Professional Engineer is preferred. It is also preferred that the Public Works Director live within the City limits of South Daytona. Applicant must be nicotine free.
