Utilities Operations Specialist I is the entry level classification of the Utilities Operations Specialist series. Essential functions include: replace, repair, operate and maintain sewer lines, manholes, water lines, pumping stations, wells, water tanks, water treatment stations, booster stations, odor control stations, fire hydrants and other essential parts of the District’s water and wastewater systems.
Experience/Certification Requirements: At least one year of experience in water or wastewater construction or maintenance, plumbing or closely related field is required. The ability to obtain the following within 18 months is required; Class B Driver’s license, CA State Water Resources Control Board D1 Water Distribution Operator certificate, and California Water Environment Assoc. Grade I Collection System Maintenance certificate. See the Job Description for further information.
