Ideally located on the Pacific Ocean, south of Los Angeles, adjacent to Orange County, the City of Long Beach, California (population 490,000) is frequently described as a series of strong, diverse, interwoven, smaller communities within a large city. The City is seeking a seasoned supervisor or manager with a demonstrated ability to provide leadership in an operational environment and possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills to serve as a valuable resource throughout the City. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering from an accredited college or university. Candidates must possess a minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience working in an environment that administers the operation of a traffic engineering or transportation planning function, five (5) years of which must have been at a supervisory or managerial level. Also required is California registration as a current Professional Engineer and Professional Traffic Engineer (or the ability to obtain registration within one year of employment if currently held from out of state). The salary range for the Manager of the Transportation Mobility Bureau is $150,000-$165,000; placement within this range is dependent upon qualifications.
