The City of Corona is searching for its next Assistant Public Works Director / City Engineer!
The Assistant Public Works Director / City Engineer position oversees and manages the Engineering and Inspection related functions of Public Works including Land Development, Capital Improvement Projects, Traffic Engineering, Special Projects, and Inspection Services. As City Engineer, this position will review and approve all plans for public projects which will affect public improvements. This position will serve as a liaison for the department to other City departments, City executive management, elected officials, outside agencies, and the public.
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader and effective communicator with a proven work history of growth and development while possessing broad and varied experience in the field of public works. A fair and positive management style while overseeing staff and projects is imperative. The ideal candidate will exhibit the utmost professionalism and interpersonal skills while interacting with both internal and external stakeholders. Skill in planning and implementing policies and procedures while creating and establishing effective and efficient departmental practices is essential.
Some of the position's requirements are:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in civil engineering
Eight years or more of experience in civil engineering, including management/supervisory level experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
Registration as a Civil Engineer issue by the California State Board of Registration for Civil and Professional Engineers
Possession of a valid California Driver License
