Lynwood is seeking a supportive leader with excellent project management skills to serve as Public Works Director and deliver over $50 million in street, landscape, lighting, building, solar, water and sewer projects. The ideal candidate will be at ease leading a Department in which City employees and consultants work together to deliver excellent service to the community. He/She will be collaborative, work well with people in other departments, and have a flexible attitude that allows him/her to adapt well to change. This person will engage team members and ensure everyone feels valued and appreciated. Because Lynwood is a small city, the Public Works Director will personally lead a wide variety of high profile projects. One of the most rewarding aspects of this position will be the opportunity to help Department staff sharpen their technical skills and hone their leadership abilities by assigning them challenging, fulfilling work.
