Performs work in the planning, scheduling, survey, design construction, inspection and maintenance of a variety of projects; provide engineering services for contract management, construction projects, building use reassignment evaluations, and system maintenance. Prepares designs, plans, specifications and cost estimates for assigned projects in areas of professional land survey, design, drafting, erosion and sediment control and storm water management design.

$49,378.42 - $79,005.94 Annually

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university recognized by the Commonwealth of Virginia Registration board for Architects and Engineers with a major in civil engineering or related field; one year professional experience and/or training in engineering work and project management preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Recognition as an Engineer-in-training in the Commonwealth of Virginia preferred. A structural engineering background and/or education is desired as the position will assist in managing the City's bridge inventory. Associated duties include review of inspection reports, budgeting and estimating of structural repair cost, repair oversight, and contract administration of annual bridge maintenance contract.
