The City of Manteca is seeking motivated and forward-thinking engineering professionals to join its dynamic Engineering Department. Opportunities are available at multiple levels, from Assistant Engineer through Senior Engineer, offering the chance to lead and support impactful public works and capital improvement projects that enhance the community’s transportation networks and utility systems.
Under the direction of the Director of Engineering/City Engineer, incumbents will plan, organize, and manage the design, construction, alteration, and installation of City infrastructure and development projects. Responsibilities include preparing cost estimates and schedules; developing plans and specifications; coordinating bidding processes; reviewing bids and administering contracts; and overseeing construction to ensure compliance with City, State, and federal laws, codes, and standards.
Engineers will collaborate with City departments, contractors, outside agencies, and the public to coordinate projects, resolve issues, and maintain progress. Positions may include supervising and mentoring staff, managing budgets and schedules, reviewing development applications, and presenting reports to City Council and other stakeholders.
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong knowledge of engineering principles, project management, contract administration, and construction inspection practices. The ability to analyze complex situations, communicate effectively, manage multiple priorities, and deliver projects on time and within budget is essential.
