The public works director leads and directs the activities of the public works department and its seven divisions: natural resources and forestry, administration and geographic information systems (GIS), parks and trails, water and sewer utilities, streets, buildings and fleet services. This leadership role manages a $33 million annual operating budget and develops and manages an $88 million five-year capital improvement plan. Public works employs 70 full-time and 30 seasonal staff members. The public works director reports directly to the city manager.
Salary: $134,392.00 - $149,325.00
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, public administration or related field. Six years progressively responsible experience, including three at the manager (or equivalent) level. Demonstrated history of executing strategic goals, managing departmental performance, supervising personnel and administering operating and capital budgets.
