Description

Position hours: Full-time position, 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some work on weekends and at special events

Job duties:

  • Manages the maintenance of all city parks and beautification areas in accordance with established standards and expectations to promote parks and beautification projects in the City of Gaffney and manages special projects as assigned
  • Assists in the development of standards, policies and procedures for the parks and beautification department and assists in preparing and administering the department budget
  • Directs and supervises subordinate employees to accomplish department's goals and objectives and maintains, coordinates and supervises decorations for annual festivals and events sponsored by the city

Qualifications:

  • College degree in turf management or horticulture preferred with two to three years of related work experience; two to five years of experience performing ground maintenance with one year in a supervisory role; or any equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid driver's license or ability to obtain by date of hire
