The City of Wheaton is currently seeking a forward-thinking Director who can lead the Engineering Department here at City Hall. Reporting to the Assistant City Manager, this position is responsible for all aspects of administration, financial planning, direction and supervision of the City's municipal engineering activities and projects.

Essential Job Functions:
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field, or a combination of training, education and experience totaling a minimum of five to seven (5-7) years experience in municipal civil engineering. Expert knowledge of Local, County, State and Federal regulations and regulatory codes relevant to construction and public improvement projects. Proficient knowledge in Microsoft suite, record keeping and database management, as well as computer software applications used to perform technical traffic analyses. Other combinations of education and experience, which could provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform this job, may be considered.

Licenses/Certifications:

Valid Driver's License and Professional Engineer license in the State of Illinois is required.

Salary:
