Under supervision of the Public Works Director or designee, performs a variety of duties involved with solid waste programs and activities. Responsibilities include planning, budgeting, procurement, implementation, coordination, inspection, data monitoring and administration of assigned solid waste programs. Incumbent is responsible for developing customer awareness regarding proper waste handling and for increasing recycling behaviors to achieve waste diversion goals.
A high school diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience in solid waste programs and regulatory compliance, including waste diversion and recycling programs. Requires intermediate to advanced competent knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook programs. This position requires a detail oriented individual with the flexibility to respond to programs with moderate direction.
Must have at the time of application and must maintain a valid California Driver License. May be required to work outside of traditional work hours.
