The City of Tigard's Public Works Department is currently seeking a qualified Senior Utility Worker to join their Stormwater Water Quality Facility Maintenance team.

Salary: $25.52-$34.20 per hour with excellent benefits

Journeyman equipment operator (track hoe and backhoe)
Must be able to read, understand and implement construction drawings.
Must be able to shoot and pull grade.
Tree and shrub pruning, grass mowing, line trimming, weed pulling.
Planting native grasses, shrubs and trees in Water Quality Facilities.
Invasive species removal both manually and mechanical (spraying)
Work planning.
Irrigation system trouble-shooting and maintenance.
Provides technical and functional direction to assigned utility staff.
Reviews and controls quality of work; assists in selection and in completing employee evaluations.
Other duties, as assigned.


Any combination of training and experience, which would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade AND
Four (4) years of experience of construction, maintenance or repair experience in streets and traffic, parks, underground utilities, general construction or facilities maintenance.
License and Certificates:
Possession of a valid class A driver's license with the appropriate endorsements and satisfactory driving record.
Standard First Aid Certificate issued by the American Red Cross.
CPR Certification.
